INTRODUCTION

Kiwi Concrete Limited was originally formed in 1997 as Laing Concrete operating from Christchurch with the concrete plant established within Road Metals quarry at Yaldhurst.

Laing Concrete was purchased by Road Metals during 1998, and with new ownership came a new name – Kiwi Concrete.

Kiwi Concrete continued to operate from the Road Metals Quarry until the plant was sold in 2001.

In the later part of 2005 Road Metals made the decision to establish Kiwi Concrete in Oamaru and within a few months a batching plant was constructed and concrete production commenced.

The batching plant is computerised to ensure batch accuracy and consistency and keeps a record of each load of concrete batched.

In 2011 it was decided to re-establish Kiwi Concrete in Christchurch. Kiwi Concrete set up a new plant at Road Metals quarry at Yaldhurst and once again began serving Christchurch.
